  • Great sound for the price I purchased this product about one month ago and so far it has worked great. I drive a 2007 Hyundai Accent and installation was fairly simple. After removing the headunit it was pretty much plugandplay. The adhesive that comes with the switchbox got weak after about a week of use so I found a subtle flat spot to glue it to. There is some interference that is only noticeable at high volumes but other than that the signal is pretty clear. The modulator also has some foam padding on the underside to keep it from vibrating loudly on whatever you put it on which I thought was a useful feature.
Put your money towards the Audiovox unit or a new head unit. ProsKit is complete though cheap.Kit works barelyConsTypical cheap from China construction.Even though this is wired inline via the antenna socket it doesn't make enough power to fully quiet the signalon either of its whopping two available frequencies Wow really? is all I have to say about that.
Broken Fusebox was broken needed to be taped up.Customer support line was fairly helpful when asking for installation help. Told me to use the frame for a ground which should work but is less than ideal.Installation was more daunting than I expected but I tried not to count that against the product.
Buy with caution. Despite several calls to Scosche for assistance they were unable to provide any creative solutions to help with the unacceptable amount of static coming through the unit. I do not live an overly populated area so I have to assume the unit was either defective or just poor quality.
CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS COMPATIBLE WITHOUT AN ADAPTER BEFORE YOU BUY This item might need a radio adapter especially if you have a newer model. Scosche should put that in their description. I pulled out my radio and couldn't find the radio antenna as instructed. It took me about 45 mins of searching the internet to figure this out. It was very frustrating trying to figure this out when they could have easily given the information on the website.I finally found it on their website here is the link[][]Their adapters are expensive I think you can probably find a cheaper one somewhere else.
It works but not well. First let me say I had this identical item several years ago and it worked fantastically sound wasn't quite CD That version didn't come with the remote switch and aux input however. Now onto this particular item. The installation is easy enough especially if you've ever installed your own car stereo system. The length of the wire bundle for the switch / aux input is VERY short when you consider the route you'll have to take to get around the interior body panels. I imagine this would be considerably too short for any SUV or truck. The adhesive backing for the switch housing had already released less than 6 hours after installation. The quality of the switch and the housing feels very cheap and the housing isn't deep enough to cover the wire connectors they're easily visible from the side.None of the wires are shielded in any way and I assume this is part of the noise problem which I'll explain in detail. Finding a proper ground is paramount to killing the squeals and static you'll find with a bad one. Before putting your dash back together test it thoroughly at different volumes both on your stereo and the audio devices you'll be using. Try different metal parts to find the best ground or the one with the lowest static / noise. That said this unit is unacceptably noisy especially compared to the older model I once had. The manual suggests using 75% volume on your device then adjust the volume on your stereo.
Just installed in Jeep Just installed it in my Jeep Wrangler. Super easy to install and works perfectly so far. Happy I bought this one.
Good product good value. This is a good product and a good price. I purchased 2 of these and installed them in both vehicles. I have used these with my cell phone and mp3 player and it works great. My only complaint is it does have a low squeal between songs. You cannot hear the noise when music is playing. The installation was smooth although there are no directions.
Good product The inline fm modulator works exactly as described. Obviously a direct aux input is the best. This is the next best. It seems to be the most complete package of this type of product. It includes a 1/8 male to male patchcord. Simple to install. Just a power and ground wire. I installed in a 2012 Chevy Colorado and it works great. But remember most Chevrolet's need antenna adaptersthe kit that has twoyou need both. It shuts out an actual fm station and produces a clean sound. Much better than a tape adapter or an fm broadcaster. This is the second one I have installed and I would buy again if needed.
You Get What You Pay For. Well after installing this I found that it gives off and on static noises hums and screeches. I checked the ground and all the wiring the second time and it still the same. I wouldn't recommend this product. However if you are not an audiophile then this would be a great solution for you.
