  • Too many problems This has not worked %100 correctly since I got it. I've had it for a few months and still struggle with the touch screen. As an IT person I deal touch screen phones and other devices. I had a problem starting the Sirius. This was fixed with a firmware update and then the navigation stopped working. Calling Clarion was disappointing. They transferred me to a local installer and he told me to call back and go to the option to check on an existing case. He said that is the only way to actually speak to a customer service representative. When I did talk to the tech he was less then friendly. I shipped out the SD card and I'm waiting for it to be repaired.
Great but not without its flaws There were mixed reviews on this unit but I've been pretty happy with it. It is more responsive and not quite as laggy as other units I've researched. The maps are decent but not quite as detailed as I would like them to be. The startup time could be greatly improved in my opinion but I have a remote start on my truck so that tends not to be a problem for me.The thing I absolutely hate the most is that when you are navigating somewhere the music just cuts out then you hear the voice guidance with the faint sound of your music in the background then the music comes back on then two seconds later another prompt comes up in the same manner if you are approaching a turn or exit. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if the music was mixed with the voice prompts in a better fashion. If you buy this be sure not to put anything on the SD card that came in the unit you will then need to buy a new one from Clarion. You cannot as far as I know use your own SD card with loaded content media/music you would need to use a USB drive or iPod.My iPod hooked up nicely and the unit supports music out of the box through USB. You will need another adapter to get the iPod/iPhone video working. The unit played DVD's fine and while the DVD menus are not touch capable controls will popup when you need them.I have a steering wheel and OnStar adapter Axxess hooked up and they both work great. The radio lacks some common steering wheel input commands but the basic functions are there.I got the unit from Amazon as it was the cheapest place I could find. Shipping was quick and the product was problem free so far.I would recommend this unit to those that are looking for an alternative to the common Kenwood slow Sony buggy and Pioneer crappy interface units.
    it was soo bad
Clarion NX501 After reading the earlier reviews I was skeptical about buying this product but after purchasing it I love it. I haven't had any issues with this item and it works perfectly.
Clarion nx501 I wasn't sure on this unit and spent a couple of weeks reviewing units and finally decided on the clarion. I tell you I couldn't be happier the interface is awesome the iPod controls are real sweet. And the navigation is perfect. Would totally recommend this unit to anyone looking for an all in one.
great unit but has its issues. Originally posted on crutchfield but they won't let me edit it or update my comments.I love this head unit. It sounds fantastic has all the options i wanted the navigationfeatures and speed alerts come in handy I've had it installed for 3 weeks and Just reallygot used to the menus. Would have gotten 5 stars except today the navigation functionwont load.
Very good all around Nav Radio I just upgraded from the NX500. This radio has better nav better bluetooth higher res screen and cool animations.GPS is a big upgrade over the the NX500 nice options.I considered the Sony but from other reviews noticed the sirius radio capabilities of the Sony were poor. The clarion Sirius abilities are great.I have hooked up a backup camera sirius radio am/fm and the nav.All work well in my 2010 ford Edge.Easy install.Cons Slow boot/start up about 20 seconds+ longer if booting to nav.Sometimes the radio gets stuck on loading when starting the Sirius radio part this is only fixed by turning off the radio and back on.
Almost Perfect A Definite Buy I was so happy when I bought this. I snagged it for $630 and it was worth every penny. The UI is great the feature list is deep and the performance is stellar. The GPS is the best I've ever used and that's coming from a Garmin Nuvi which I didn't think could get any better. The sound is incredible. My stock speakers in my Ford Explorer sounds so awesome now. I can only imagine what it would sound like if I had good speakers. If you buy one make sure you get a new version. Major fixes to the problems that other reviewers have mentioned have been implemented.FIXESI bought this about 4 months ago when it first came out and the external mic from Clarion did not work with it. I had to send it in and they replaced it with a newer version. The external mix now works and it is perfect. I haven't had a complaint yet from people on the other end. There has been a firmware update. Before if you turned off the radio when the input was NOT Sirius you had to reset the unit after turning on again because Sirius wouldn't work. Sirius now ALWAY turns on no matter what the input was.General Bluetooth connectivity is much improved.
Top shelf navigation unit This is by far the best navigation unit I ever had in a vehicle. This is installed in my 2005 F150. Looks factory. The navigation is top notch. The only downside to this radio is the usb connection for the Ipod. For whatever reason sometimes you have to unplug your ipod and plug it back in to make the unit recognize it. I had a pioneer navigation in the past and I like this one better.
Nice to Have In the Car Sony offers a comparable unit and maybe I shouldve gone with it. Maybe. I still don't really understand the Navigation part of this unit. Anywayonce I loaded some albums on my memory stick and when it's playing them the song will stutter because the CPU is being interrupted by the NAV unit. The stuttering occurs briefly after you start and move the car fifty feet. And you cannot turn off the NAV unit temporarily to test this buffering theory although I'm sure that's it. It does not increment to the next album folderinstead replays the same album. Had a hard time getting the songs to play but once I put them in MP3 format they worked fine except for the aforementioned problems. When you get in your car there is at least a 15 sec delayor more as the unit warns you about the dvd and staticly puts its brand name up grandioselyClarionand it seems to last wayyy longer than it should. Also the NAV unit talks to you but you cannot give it voice commands except for cursing at it which it will ignore. AndI was driving along on the freeway listening to my tunes and this deafening although slightly sexy female voice came out of the speakers YOU ARE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT!! I was only about 5 mph over it too. It was like having your mother in the car. okay you can use the menu and shut it up thankfully Also I used the Bluetooth feature and it works fine great in fact. Lots of volume but not too loud in my Infiniti. Butoverall In spite of a few shortcomingsI have yet to really use the navigation with any kind of ease and besides give me a map any dayI would say this is a great device because it frees you from the constant commercials of AM/FM. The ability to load over 500 cd's on a USB memory stick is pretty awesome which is the main reason I bought this unit. Having had a 6 cd player and thinking that was the cat's meow well this thing beats it hands down. I've already loaded 21+ cd's onto it. The limitation is not the memory stick however the limitation is with the Clarion unit itself. Even so it's very impressive. Like having your own radio station. Plus the Sirius capability DVDs etc. And having Mommy or Big Brother keeping my speed down if you want may just save my a.. one day.

    • Practically Perfect! I recently moved to the northeast and decided that I would pay a little more for this system with the hope that it would do at least half of the things that it said it would. And I was very pleased as it does everything it is supposed to.I didn't install my system but it didn't take long for it to get done and now it is perched next to me as my ticket anywhere. So far I have had flawless directions to places in Providence RI a city filled with confusing one way streets Boston New York and all points in between.I no longer am afraid to take the plunge and find a new restaurant or whatever because I just get the address and my little friend tells me where to go.I have never had a problem with the screen or working the unit or anything. I don't think that I could ever get lost again.Yes this is much more than many GPS systems BUT I truly believe that you will be happy with your decision if you decide to fork over the extra dough.
Good Unit if you know the limitations For all those that complain about not being able to watch dvds or put in an address while driving you can with a trick. Type solder avic n2 in google and you'll figure it out. Keep in mind they did this because it is illegal in the U.S. to watch dvds while driving.Pioneer does not update this map that often so if you are a realtor and need house addresses updated a lot STAY AWAY! When you registor the product pioneer will send you the updated software free.Yes you do need the DVD software in the unit to route to a destination. If you want to listen to music other than the radio it is best to either get XM Sirius or hook up an MP3 player if you have an ipod you can control it through the touch screen. If you do not like this part about it either buy the Pioneer Avic D1 or the type with a hard drive cost a lot more ~$4000+ for the Avic Z1 coming out summer '06.Pioneer will release the Avic N3 early summer '06 the only difference is the GUI for XM and IPOD functions and placement of the physical buttons. If you can live with that difference you can save at least $300 bucks by buying the N2.
Nearly perfect all in one solution Well after reading all the reviews I could find I decided to take the leap and pay the extra $ for this leading edge unit. Nothing is perfect but this unit comes very very close to fulfilling all of its promise. After having saved a good amount of $ on my new SUV I decided to have the best allinone entertainment and navigation solution I could find.I purchased the Pioneer AVICN2 based on quite a review of existing products. My needs Satelite Radio reliable navigation integration with backup camera DVD entertainment and support for IPod.I think several of the other reviews are so negative simply because people had not done their homework and had expectations which were unatainable. In any case this unit delivers everything I needed though I could wish for better IPod integration not same experience as Apple's interface. DVD entertainment can be enjoyed by everyone behind the driver and copilot. Given that it's illegal in most states to have a DVD visible to the driver it's simply foolish to expect first row viewing. I can listen to XM or IPod and utilize a very well integrated traffic / navigation solution. I believe one of the other viewers complained about incessant messages being displayed on the Navigation screen. That's because they didn't have the unit setup correctly with the traffic option. Assuming that you are going to use the navigation to its best capabilty you have to make use of the traffic subscription $4 addition to the standard XM subscription. This is well worth the money let me tell you. The backup camera displays when in reverse or in a slightly smaller screen in 'fulltime' mode.Overall I'm very happy and am not disappointed one bit with my choice. If you need an allinone solution then consider the Pioneer AVICN2 as a top contender. This unit delivers everything Pioneer says it can.
XM Radio INterface is unusable The AVICN2 is an excellent radio and GPS tracking system but the price that they charge for the XM interface you would at least expect to get the functionality of a standalone $49 XM radio. There is no channel guide no channel description no channel groupings. If you do not already know he channel numbers the unit is unusable. They have since come out with the N3 which fixes the issue but they have no plans to help the thoudands of people that paid lots of money for the N2.
Giant Waste Of Money! Save your money. I invested over 2K to purchase and have this unit installed. After about a year the screen would go blank but the lights on the face plate would flash. It would come back on after a minute or 2 but I would usually have to take the disc out or do something else. I figured Id call Pioneer and see what theyd say. They told me Id have to ship the unit to Ohio problem is its an in dash system that cost me $500 to install! Not to mention they said it will cost $200 to fix unless they find its their fault. I would stay away from their stereo products. Way overpriced and unreliable.
Very good unit I love this unit. Its awesome in every way possible. the navigation is super the quality of the dvd player is good and is sounds good for cd play. I still have to figure out the sounds curves but it a real good unit.
Stop and Save your money I waited a while before submitting a review to give this unit a good try. I already had a portable unit Garmin but wanted an indash unit for my other car. At the time this unit was twice as much as the Garmin but it also played dvds. I was very disappointed once I got this unit which cost twice as much as the portable and more than most of the other units of the market. The biggest disappointment was that he does not guide you a fraction as well as any of the portable units on the market. The Garmin will take you right to the door of the address you put in. This unit if it can find the address gets you there and says you have arrived But where which side of the street which building etc.
Horrific user interface For a unit with a 250+ page user's manual you would expect something that is both sophisticated and ultimately USER FRIENDLY! This is neither the worse part is that it literally makes driving UNSAFE by forcing people to pull over put that car in park put the parking brake on just to access the navigation system!!! Very unsafe!!! Moronic 'solution' if this is done to respect some federal law I am not aware of it doesn't change a thing. It DOES make driving UNSAFE.ALso if you want to play a DVD while you are driving you can't! It will not play the VIDEO unless you are parked with the parking brake on! So if you take trips as I do with your wife or whomever in the passenger seat the passenger will not be able to do anything as far as accessing navigation or playing movies.I wasted over a $1000.
Could have been fantastic This unit could have been fantastic if not for one issue. Almost all the navigation fuctions cannot be used while the vehicle is moving over 10 miles an hour. What good is having all this power and information at your fingertips and not be able to use it when you need it. If you are going down the highway and you want the unit to find a restaurant or an address you have to pull over and stop to enter it into the unit. This is just plan wrong and there are many other units on the market that will let you imput information without stoping the car. I can understand not allowing DVD's to be viewed while driving but restricting the ability to imput address into the unit while in motion is just plain stupid. I highly recommend you do not buy this unit as you will be very disappointed.
97% of the way there! This is my first built in GPS unit. I have used Delorme and Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006 on a laptop for years. I took the plunge and purchased the AVICN2 for my new 2006 Pathfinder.First let me say that having a built in GPS is so much better than getting the laptop out. However there are a few things that I was REALLY surprised that the AVICN2 does not do.First off I was surprised that I had to keep the MAP DVD in the unit to get detailed updates. While the unit does have the ability to read your route into memory if you change the route or want to search you have to reinsert the MAP DVD. With the cost of hard drives I'm not sure why the DVD is not read into the unit and stored.Next the selection of the route or the addition of waypoints by touching the screen is not as easy as it looks and there are errors in the data that I would love to see Pioneer open a way to allow users to update the maps and post that information back to the website for future releases ie roads that you can actually turn on and yet require you to go in the opposite direction for a half a mile only to make a U turn.Outside of the GPS I was REALLY disappointed that the Radio function does not scroll the station name artist and song title that most new radio's do. I see that in the XM function that you can repeatedly press the PGM button to get this information on XM but would love to see it scroll automatically and that same function available in FM. I also don't understand why in the N2 that XM radio stations are not LISTED and that when you save one to your preferences that the button does not change to the channel number and remains P1 P2 P3 where as the AM/FM radio buttons change to display the station name.Last as far as playing a DVD in the unit while driving. While I do not like NOT having this ability I do understand it's distraction and yet would like to see in the future that all FUNCTIONS be enabled as you can have a passenger perform these functions while driving. Is it worth the cost well not when you consider that a laptop program only costs 100.00 but at the same time it sure is nice having this built into the vehicle.

    • Includes microphone and visor clip
    • Plugs directly into the stereo for an easy installation
    • Bluetooth digital technology ensures crisp, static-free performance in the car
    • Designed to work with Pioneer "Bluetooth Adapter Ready" CD and DVD receivers
    • Make and take calls, use call waiting, talk, and hang up hands-free

    • It did not work at all First of all it did not work as expected.I did waste $50 in installing this stupid device. Blutooth connection was successful. but i was not able to hear anything in case of incoming calls though the person is able to hear me.it does not show the number fully in the screens.Better avoid it..
quick and clear This adapter was a quick process to install. I just needed to plug connect a couple of wires and I was ready to go. The mic sounds so clear I don't think people can tell I am connected to a Bluetooth set at all. Good for your dollar. If you're thinking about getting it get it.
Great Item! I got this item for my 2003 S10 I'm using it with a Pioneer DEHP4000UB This works great. It hooked into my Droid Incredible with no trouble. It sounds GREAT! The Phone book transfered over with no trouble. The call name displays on the screen when a incoming call. I installed it myself very easy to do. I would recomend this item if you want a great aftermarket in dash blue tooth.
Used to be good now it's terrible I own two of these units. They are over 3 years old at this point. Neither unit has reliable performance with my wife's iPhone 3GS or my iPhone 4. We get dropouts during bluetooth audio playback and call quality is very choppy most times. The other gripe is that the unit will only automatically connect to the programmed device in the first registered slot registered slots 2 and 3 must be manually connected. This is a pain when my wife and I switch cars. Finally there is no external usb connector on the device so there is no way for Pioneer to perform software updates on these devices in the field. I suspect the engineers at Pioneer did not expect this device to be on the market for as long as it has been.On balance I would avoid this device and go with a headunit that has bluetooth technology integrated into the head unit. This one isn't up to the task.
Works good so far Well didn't know if it was going to work with my Huwaei ascend phone but it did. I can even play music through my phone from about a 100 feet away from car and answer if somebody calls. And the sound is pretty clean cleaner then the radio it sounds just like cd.
iPhone4 issues resolved This worked great until I started having issues with my new iPhone4. It took me a year to figure it out so I wanted to share. You can connect a phone via bluetooth and not REGISTER it. Registering a phone allows it to automatically connect when the car is turned on.The first phone I connected my old 3gs seemed to register automatically when I connected it since I do not remember registering it. The trick is that if you are using any head unit other than the fancy one with the screen you can only register one phone. So if you get a new phone make sure to register it after connecting. The instructions explain how to do this.
note if using with avh4300dvd. only partially works i bought this for my girlfriends car and installed it with the avhp4300dvd and it does work. but not at all like it should. i have the mvhp8200bt in my jeep and the built in bluetooth works flawlessly so i was very dissimpressed when i started using this unit if you have the avhp4300dvd you will not get everything this is supposed to do first off you cannot download your phone book into the head unit.. lame second it doesnt even show the full phone number when you are recieving a phone call it cuts it off so cant even tell who is calling. third there is no way of dialing out other then using your phone and then it connects to the blue tooth once it starts dialing so kinda defeats part of the hands free operation.
ERROR 80 code!! I just got this and I am having difficulty with it. It keeps giving me a code that reads Error 80.No clue what it is much less why! The calls just drop and to reset it you have to turn the car off and turn it back on.So far not very happy with it.
Works Great I think as far as bluetooth it does its job It will work with my Iphone 4 the only thing it has very limited control I think because they what you to use ipod cable were then alot more features are allowed but it sound clear when in a call it streams music well I like it.

    • Apple deals the Jensen/Audiovox VM9224BT a fatal blow At first the VM9224BT looks and reads like a full featured car media system unlit. Until you buy one and install it.First I plugged my Sansa Fuze in the USB port which gave me an error message device not supported So I tried my Sansa clip+ with the same error message. I borrowed a friend's new Samsung MP3 player and got the same message. So don't expect to use the USB port on anything but a thumb drive unless you own an Apple product. Keep in mind it said it was not supported and didn't say couldn't be supportedIf you use an SD card or a USB thumb drive you will only be able to listen to the media in alphabetical order. There is no way to make it play in random mode including mp3 cds or dvds unless you are using an Apple whatever.Next I set up the Bluetooth feature paired it with my LG Chocolate touch which has both HPF and HSP profiles and Phone Book upload profile and although it can make and receive calls it will not load the phonebook or play music files or display the incoming phone number unless you have an iPhone. It claims to have A2DP a universal profile but that is not true if it only connects with an iPhone.
Good but not perfect Easy enough to install and works great. Only problem is that the microphone did not work at all. Had to get a replacement sent.

      • Not a good buy I got this for my finacee for Christmas and had it installed. First the DVD/CD stopped working and the SD slot did not work. The interface is not all that great either.
Great for the price. You get what you pay for though For a 7 dvd screen with iPod and USB support you can't beat the price. I noticed the price recently went up to $168. I bought it for $144. This unit is a generic Chinese product that Boss Lanzar ProSound and Pyramid Gold stamp their name on. The manual is in Chinglish and isn't very helpful. Some of the onscreen menus are like that also. Please to stopping car for video watch. It's cheap but the screen looks nice. The menu shows Bluetooth but there is no Bluetooth. The menu itself isn't very nav friendly. If you're watching a video or listening to Ipod/USB you have to go into the radio source to play with EQ or loudness settings. If you're listening to the radio and want to dim the screen you have to go into the video source. The screen is still bright at night time. There's no screen saver or dimmer like better systems have. Like I said you get what you pay for. I put it in my 95 BMW M3 which was already modified for another stereo. Went with this single din because double din was too big. I mainly use the USB with thumbdrive MP3's.When I was looking at this unit I couldn't find any pictures of the menus. It's difficult to navigate and nothing can really be changed as far as graphics. Most everything is controlled by the remote also unless you navigate to a setup screen which while driving isn't going to end pretty.Great price for a basic video system.
radio volume increasing by itself I don't know why but I have a system connected to my 00 accord sedan and the radio volume on the boss bv8966b increases by itself more and more and more after the bass is hitting i checked my wiring it looks good on how its connected but this is very annoying I cant listen to my music in a steady volume and on the aux source it shows where you can fix the treble sound the bass and volume and balancing the sound sides and fading it but then in a few seconds it goes onto a blue screen and says no video signal. so I'm trying to find out what is the problem to this specially mainly the volume increasing by it's self.
        exelente
boss this product is sold at a great price for the features however the features do not work. Though the company replace it it still did not work. first one the sharp and bass did not work.
Boss BV8966B InDash 7 DVD/MP3/CD Receiver with USB SD Card Bluetooth and Front Panel AUX Input Okay reading the reviews before purchasing this receiver i was skeptical but didn't think you can go wrong with a DVD player less than 200 dollars. should have stayed skeptical. after a couple months of purchasing the unit the screen has gone to black and white only along with some of the other problems that other consumers have had. after talking to Boss customer service this morning they will have me send it inAmazon was no help along with a 20 dollar money order to return ship the receiver AFTER the estimated 46 weeks repair or replacement time. One would think that if a product is deemed defective only a 1/4 of time into its warranty period manufacturer should cover all costs NOT BOSS.PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Not that great I used for 3 months and then sold it. It was good for watching movies and that was about it. Picture quality was awsome. Sound quality was poor to moderate. Was not very touch responsive and the USB port did not work. Face plate wiggled when ever you pushed the buttons on the bottom I was always afraid of breaking it. I also bought 2 Boss subwoofers and a Boss amplifier Those were both great buys. Boss is a good company for car audio just stay away from their head units.
        Great Player
Nice Unit too bad BOSS won't stand behind there product.. I Bought and installed the unit in Oct 2010 everything worked fine. Now 15 months later the screen is no longer working.Just a white screen. Called BOSS it's out of warranty and they want $110 to repair. $110 repair for a $169 unit? There customer service didn't offer a solution other than that.I dont really like to post negative reviews but it looks like BOSS just earned one.
very pleased for price just had my radio professionaly installed.Seems to work great.bought it for my sons 98 pathfinder really looks good.I know there has been bad reviews on this product but hopefully thats from poeple installing it thereselves. So for works great will update if have any problems.

        • Very NIce Head Unit But This is a very nice head unit and what the others have said is true. So rather than focus on info you can get from the specs page or from another review I am going to focus on 2 thngs that I find annoying about this radio. #1 Does pioneer have some type of deal with Apple? I have a keep an old IPOD in the truck because my Android phone will not work with this stereo. Bluetooth Functions properly #2 A USB port on the front Really? This is an incredible looking unit. Yes it does turn heads when people see it but why would you take something that is almost artistic in design and stick a USB port on the front of it. I've seen this approach on 79$ Dual CD players I would expect more from a 600$ Pioneer. This being said if you can get past those two things this is a great unit.
Perfect AV Receiver for My WS6 T/A This Head unit Pioneer AVHP6300BT is an excellent fit for my car. It is perfect for any vehicle that only will accept a single DIN dash opening. Mine is more like 1.5 DIN but with the Crutchfield adapter fits great. The only modification I had to do is to trim off the rear support inside the dash. Dremel tool tape and about two minutes of my time. The 7' screen is nice and big.
not so good the rca output is not properly gounded once you hook it up to subwoofer you will hear humming ang buzzing that the number 1 problem with pioneer check it out on google.
It's AWESOME!!! This Pioneer is amazing!! I just installed it this morning on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and it's working perfectly.
Pioneer flipface packs a punch Well I was apprehensive at best to purchase this item. I guess because I am always afraid of things breaking or it never being what I expected. i must say I was wrong on both accounts. The flipface is strong and durable and it is a very low profile unit that's seamlessly fits into my BMW. The adjustable colors blends into th e orange lighting as well which makes it look just like a factory stereo. Lots of adjustable settings and it all flips up and tucks back away in less than 5 seconds. I love Pioneer products and you truly get alot for your money.
WOW just WOW i have this unit installed on my 2010 toyota corolla. this thing is beautiful!!! the unit is easy to use very responsive and the built in amp gives my other amps an extra kick!!it is a head spinner btw driving around with this thing does give your car allot of attention.and if you turn your car off it automatically closes and reopens when your car is turned on which makes it even more entertaining.
Feedback Just Fantastic. It's a little bit slow to read SD card or USB but it's really good.I strongly reccomend this product and seller.

          • Sounds awesome decent nav annoying random function This is a high quality unit. I paired it with Polk Audio speakers for a system that I am very happy to recommend. The sound is clean and crisp no subwoofer needed for most music. The navigation system is easy to use and was very accurate when I have used it. The builtin bluetooth also works well with ease of use and decent sound. I have not had any complaints when using the handsoff phone. The only annoyances I have found are that the gas mileage function which should be a breeze to use is actually rather confusing and the random play function is not very random.A smarter gas mileage app would let you mark when you filled up with gas then track your total miles with the GPS until you mark another fillup and enter the gallons of gas.
Random I have had this radio for about a year now.I have mixed feelings about this radio. It does everything I want it to when its working. The GPS is decent but takes some getting used to. The USB for my iPod is great. But it freezes waaaay too often. I will have to press the reset button or ignore it and hope it works when I start the car next time.If I reset it I have to go back through everything and readjust the settings.Very frustrating.I will be looking at another stereo very soon.So I DO NOT recommend this stereo.I also attepted to do the update on the radio. But me not thinking deleted the original firmware and saved only the new update folder. Now the screen doesnt work. But at least the iTunes is still working.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER/ DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER I purchased a refurbished CD player. The Pioneer AvicU310BT 4.3 inch InDash Navigation CD player with blue tooth. First things first. This product costs an average of 200.00 to 250.00 just to install. WOW Second after I paid that whopper of a fee to install the CD player it broke 4 months later Just one month out of the worthless 90 day warranty this crappy company offers. So then I have to pay another 60.00 just to have the thing removed and another 70.00 to have the CD player shipped back to be repaired. Which I also had to pay another 40.00 for the repair fee. I have been waiting for nearly six weeks for this to arrive and it is still not back to me. Which then again I will have to pay about another 35.00 to put the CD player back in. Thought I was saving money by purchasing on Amazon and buying refurbished. DIDN'T HAPPEN. This company is junk. Use at your own RISK.
Good for the price When I took this unit to the installer for my wife's 2000 Camry the first thing they asked was how much it cost. They were impressed that the unit has Navigation for a sub $300 price tag. I guess that's the bottom line with this unit.I also like the fact that the unit is detachable. If you plug in an SD card you can transfer destinations directly from google maps after installing the pioneer software with a USB connection to the computer.Bluetooth connection works flawlessly with her blackberry. Highly recommended if you are on a budget and need a good 2din nav unit.
Ok for the price I wanted to consolidate all the gadgets in my car into one. My previous pioneer head unit didn't have GPS so this helped with that. Installation Easy since my other unit was pioneer. The only change was the wire leads and adding the GPS antenna. The XM receiver USB BT Mike and Aux all moved over from the old unit. BT So far I haven't had a problem except I did lose BT Audio except for Phone I can't play music or other Mobile device stuff like audiobooks through BT. GPS Be prepared to pay $130 for system/map and POI updates. You will need these as the versions/info on the system oob is dismal.Bottom Line Overall a decent unit. The nice Amazon price is diluted by having to purchase the GPS updates for $130.00.
Great All in One Unit This little unit has all you could ever want or need in a car stereo system! My only complaint was that the Maps in the gps are pretty terrible it always knows what street youre on but it wil rarely show what streets are around you which is frustrating if you are trying to find a street in the dark with poor signage and the system lags so it will say you arent quite to a street yet on the map when in actuality you already passed it. As long as you know that though you can judge on when to turn.
A Must Have For Your Car! I've bought this item refurbished as a Xmas gift for myself in 2010. I feel myself safe and secure with this particular navigation system it is very smart it always chooses the shortest and the smartest way to the selected destination. The female guiding voice is very nice sometimes resembling that of Marilyn Monroe. The biggest advantage of this navigation system is the ability to detach the screen which is absolutely critical for my Mustang convertible. The stereo is very powerful and the sound enhancement options are very nice.In short I've been always dreaming of having a Pioneer system in my car and finally it came true.
SO worth it. Bought this radio after some jerk busted out the window in my Blazer to steal my 2 week old radioLow lifes. Loves this one because the faceplate comes off. Its a great radio the lights are fun and me and my boyfriend get a kick out of the sexy voice on the GPS. It was worth the investment.
Horrible Horrible Products We have had a Pioneer Avic system for several years now and it is by far the most frustrating consumer product ever owned! I even tell people I think the designers should be put in the town square for public humiliation and so should their ancestors forever. It is unituitive requires parking brake and car in park as if my wife can't handle nav while I'm driving or vice versa. Try to adjust anything and the complicated menus are impossible. Buttons are too small to handle whne driving. Hit a bump power off or hit wrong button. Also the worst navigation i have ever used and i have used many.
Not for navigation Do not buy this unit for the nav capability. I was somewhat suckered into this unit after the Kenwood single din unit I had bought at Car Toys stopped working after 1 week installation problem in Honda's is what Car Toys claimed. The salesman didn't claim this unit provided great nav capability he just said getting a unit w/navigation at this price was a great deal. There are a handful of POI's in the unit but they are basically worthless the screen view is not great and doesn't respond too well to touchscreen manipulation but hey it does have it. Although it is a common sense safety feature I wasn't thrilled w/the fact that several on screen options become unavailable when the vehicle is moving whereas a Garmin allows you the option of running off the road while inputting a destination.

            • Great Radio great DVD picture Bought this deck a week ago and I'm totally in love with it. In my opinion Kenwood Pioneer and JVC make the best car radios so I only considered those three. The Kenwoods all cost much more and the Pioneer in this price range AVH1400 has a smaller screen with less customization options.ConsOne thing that did upset me upon opening is that it does not come with remote I overlooked that detail and am not happy that it cost 50 bucks to get one reason for 4 stars vs. 5.
It crashed 36 hours after installation. I had this radio installed yesterday at 11am. At 630pm tonight after the radio and iPod had been working fine for over 24 hours I turned on my car only to see a blank screen. It cost me $312 to have this radio installed on top of the $280 cost of the radio. After reading the previous person's review on this radio I can only surmise that I too will be resetting this radio every few days if not more than twice a day. I thought this product was going to be good and I'm feeling buyer's remorse that I didn't listen to the 1st person's comment about this bad radio. I doubt the installer will give me back my $312 since most of that was for parts to make the radio fit into my car.
Nice for the price I have purchased many JVC stereos over the years and this one is good but not great. This was my first venture into a touch screen deck. Overall I would say I am very happy with the purchase but knowing what I know now I may have gone a different way. The interface on the deck is very nice. My only real issue is the amount of time it takes to read from the USB port. I understand it needs to read the whole file structure but on previous decks they boot in about a third of the time. I have found by putting a faster flash drive in it its a bit faster but still takes 3040 seconds before it will start playing a song. I read many people having issues getting this to work but I installed it and its been running perfect since day one. Another thing I had never seen before was the single channel output for the subwoofer I ended up using the rear audio output instead of the subwoofer out just to make it easier on myself. I have ordered a backup camera and will update this if I have any thoughts on how that works.
Radio is fine I had similar issues with this radio. After a brief search I found a patch that corrects this issue. My radio crashed several times but has yet to crash since the update. If you have an Iphone this radio works great can even use a navigation app that will then display on the screen as compared to a navigation ready radio that cost several hundred more. 4 stars just because I had to apply the update to make it work and slight lag times between screens.
when it works it is alright i have had this radio for a little over a week now and it has crashed 3 times now. its very frustrating resetting all of my stationsaudio settings and display settings every few days. i have triple checked all of my wiring and ground so im not sure what is causing the problem. i have a repair/replace request sent out to jvc to try and remedy the problem. other than that the radio seems to be ok it has a lot of options for its price.update after several week with this radio and resetting all of my settings a grand total of 26 times yes i kept count i have given up. after many communications with jvc i have decided to part ways with this radio. the problem with the radio is that apparently my vehicle takes too long to crank. jvc said there is an update for this problem but it must be returned to them for an update.

            • No a happy camper This product is not at all what I expected. The Bluetooth doesn't work the radio tuning doesn't work the memory card doesn't read over 2GB I would have like to known that before I purchased it. I would NOT suggest this to another buyer.
Not a great product disappointed with Boss! The first complaint I have is with the audio. Each time the head unit boots up I have to adjust the treble and bass settings they are way off! The blue tooth works great when the head unit pairs with my phone it doesn't always pair and there is no way to fix this problem short of having someone call my while in my car. There are plenty of preamp outputs which do not work the same as most other head units. Most head units come with a built in amplifier control setting. I have an amp hooked up to the front and another amp hooked up to the back preamp outputs. Neither of the amps are controlled by the amplifier setting under the sound control options. The user interface is poor and difficult to navigate easily. There are no real bells and whistles to the radio but at the price I really didn't expect there to be any. I went to Best Buy to look at similar Pioneer and Kenwood head units really wish I would have saved my money and bought a better brand.
perfect for watching perfect for watching movies high resolution perfect for sound system but when u make it laud the BASS will mess up in your system.
you get what you pay for basically you get what you pay for! Its not the greatest i still cant even watch videos on it and the ipod connection doesnt work with the iphone. not what i expected.
piece o' junk! while SOME features work really well and sound output is great some features work poorly and others dont work at all Kind of important features too like the radio! I cant get any regular radio stations to sound through the stereo and I've had two installers check it out so it's not the antenna. overall it was a bad purchase. you get what you pay for.
Great buy I havnt installed it yet but the fast service I recieved a long easy buy I love it. I can't wait to install today n I will update about product ASAP after installment of it ..
SATISFIED NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS HEADUNIT. WORKS GREAT FOR THE PRICE AND DOES WHAT IS ADVERTISED. HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE FITTING IT INTO MY VEHICLE CRRECTLY but I EVENTUALLY GOT IT. LOVE THE BLUETOOTH FEATURE. ALSO THE ADVERTISEMENT DOES NOT MENTION A SUB PREAMP OUT WHICH IT DOES HAVE SO I WAS GLAD FOR THAT. GOOD HU.
Opinion Im really considering buying this for my 2006 chevrolet trailblazer.
