  • Automatically measures your car's interior acoustic characteristics
  • The Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone features an attached 6.5' cable terminated by a male 3.5mm connector

  • Great for what it is but I recently added a Pioneer MVH8300BT and 4 Alpine speakers to my Mercury Grand Marquis. Wanting to do everything I could to make it right I found this item on Crutchfield *then* ordered it directly from Amazon for half the price. Sorry CrutchfieldThe object of this little device is similar to the Bose system of automatically setting up an equalizer pattern to provide the best sound in any environment.
auto EQ great I had tried to tweak the EQ on my Pioneer MVHP8200BT to get the right sound but something was always off like too much highs or lows. I used the auto EQ and it was amazing. Everything was balanced and the mids were so much better. Why tune your EQ when auto EQ can do it for you. I'm definitely impressed.
If your Pioneer auto stereo supports this you should get it This small mike hugely improved my listening experience. Auto Equalize seems to be a Pioneer feature that works well. It is definitely worth the $25.47 with shipping that I paid for it. So far I have had my stereo Pioneer MVHP8300BT in a 2000 VW Eurovan.
Excellent Little Doohickey The CDMC20 is probably the best kept secret in the AVIC lineup. If you're not too sure how to equalize your system manually or the preset equalizations' just aren't cutting it for you then this is your answer. It comes packaged with no instructions so you'll have to revert back to your actual head units manual for specific setup instructions.Once you find your specific instructions set up couldn't be any easier. The whole process takes about 68 minutes ad must be done in a quiet environment. When finished the result is undeniable. You'll be able to toggle the auto equalization setting on and off in real time to hear the difference between your old settings and the new auto ones. It's absolutely incredible the difference you'll hear and the clarity is amazing. Now if you're an audiophile who knows how to tune your stereo this probably isn't for you and you may not get much out of it. But for those of you who have no clue definitely spend the $20.
works great short cable lost the one in my house for my receiver so had to purchase this. the cord is significantly shorter for all of you who might be looking to replace the receiver one. Radio shack/here sells headphone extension cords one of which i had laying around.
Big difference! I used this to eq my 3300BT. It was difficult to figure out but once I did the difference is amazing. Some tips from my experience.Turn key to acc and turn off fans etc. Push source button until system turns off. Plug in mic. Don't turn back on. Instead choose menu button on screen. Then choose auto eq. Note if you have bypassed parking brake the relay will not charge when off. Just temporarily ground brake wire to chassis until finished.I am a musician by trade with two music degrees and this is the best auto audio setting I have heard in my truck! Basically like having a RTA in your vehicle. Highly recommended.
AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY IF YOU HAVE A PIONEER HEADUNIT After much deliberation I bought this for my Pioneer 3300BT head unit for my car which has about $2000 worth of aftermarket speakers/subwoofers/etc not showing off it's relevant to this review.
It does make your system sound better! I have the Pioneer 3200BT purchased in March 2010 and have loved the unit! Sound wise I had been a bit dissapointed and I knew it was mainly because I could not find the perfect EQ setting for my car much of it due to my laziness.I have the system hooked up to 12 inch Type R sub in a sealed box with an Eclipse 500wattICE powered amp all custom installed. My car lexus lx450 is using the factory speakers and its included amp.I have tried quite a many setting changes with this receiver and have never been quite comfortable with the sound. Perhaps it is because of my factory speaker/amp which played fairly loud at low volume levels i.e. having the volume indicator at 10 but without a nice amount of boom from the sub. Thus after looking at reviews and finally after a long internet struggle found this mic in stock and gave it a go.Set up was fairly simple. Ensure that your car is completely off insert key and turn until accessory power only is powering the car. Turn off all fans and ensure your surroundings are quiet.Your pioneer reciever will probably turn on. You need to now press and hold the sourcebutton and ensure a complete shut off of the system.Insert mic to the front Linein jack microphone should be placed facing forward on drivers front headrest.Turn system back on by pressing source button. You will be presented with a setup screen that if you are like me did not know existed!Scroll down and you will notice an autoeq setting. This should be lit up to allow you to press it if not ensure you car is in fact off parkedparking break applied.Select this icon. Press Start on your screen. Close the door. Walk away. From outside you will hear various Static like sound coming through your speakers at varying levels of loudness. This process takes about 68 minutes to complete. When you enter your car to look at the screen you will see an icon saying complete. Press OK. Now start your car. It may take the receiver to demo mode. No worries. Press the source button. You will notice now in the upper right corner auto eq has replaced the eq curve you had previously set and it will look flat. Now enjoy!!It sounds fantastic much better than my previous custom eq setting. I noticed that much of my previous settings were set to 0. Including bass boost 0 subwoofer level 0 fade was set to center. Sub filter set to 125 and speaker high filter also to 125hz. This is what I had set before on the crossover and was happy it remained the same.
Not worth it. I've had pioneer head units throughout the past. This unit is easy to sync and use and set up equalization. I didn't think is was really worth the money. I set my Pioneer 8300 unit to powerful equalizer and the lows mids and highs come out sounding perfect and I get enough response from my tweeters. I just raise my sub levels for a bit more bass. When using this I found the response had a lot of bass but the actual lows and mids sounded very off and unclear. I have a convertible and using the Powerful setting on the head unit keeps the sound flowing even with the top down. I even have aftermarket polk db's I put in for better sound but this equalizer just seems overated. It really isn't worth the Money. You use it once to equalize and that's really it.
didn't work for me mine didn't work made the stereo sound horrible not better waste of money for me amazon took it back. was pretty excited to only be let down..
