Unreliable. Not a good value for the $$$ I will never buy another Clarion deck after owning this unit. Sure the deck is a grand improvement on a stock deck but for the price I'd rather own a highend nondvd deck DVD being novelty in a sedan. This is the bargain barrel DVD touchscreen deck and it is not worth your time or money. The interface sucks and it is unreliable. I can't tear it a new arsehole though without giving it some positive feedback though so here are some pros.PROSSounds better than a stock deck. Builtin Bluetooth mic works well for phone calls. You can watch movies on it when it lets you. Inexpensive for a DVD touch deck.CONSAUDIO QUALITYThe first next thing you will notice is the lack of midrange frequency in your audio primarily where vocals are heard. You can turn up the bass and treble but there are no controls for Mid. So basically everything is thumpthump crashcrash and nothing in between. Songs I love to listen to at home and via headphones sound totally different and unremarkable through this clarion deck. It's probably good for rap and hiphop but sounds like junk when playing rock or anything complex or melodic. The next thing you'll notice is the sub woofer volume if you own a sub. The range is from 0 7. The difference between 0 and 7 sounds like it should be the difference between 2 and 3. This is not a drastic or usable tool at all. I just keep it at 7 all the time. Dialing in the sub woofer isn't easy on this deck either as the controls are poorly documented and there is no section on dialing in a sub.ANNOYANCESYou will first notice this with the clunky behavior with iTunes. I got the separate iPod cable installed extra $50 and the interface is horrible. I'd much rather use the iPod itself to navigate music. I usually only use Pandora and that hardly interfaces at all so I use my phone to navigate anyway. The unit prefers bluetooth as an audio source so if you are using the ipod dock cable and have bluetooth turned & autosync turned on it will play out the dock cable for 2 seconds when you start your car then turn off and switch to the bluetooth source once it connects. This means turning your car off and back on leaving your phone/ipod plugged in you have to change the source every time you start your car back up. This is very annoying. Also turning the screen off at night is a great feature.
Clarion Vx401 Before buying this i browsed way too many different sites and products while in my search to find a touchscreen receiver for my car. This clarion had the most bang for the buck with built in Bluetooth ipod compatibilityetc. The touchscreen is responsive easily visible and easy to navigate through while driving. I would recommend this to product to anyone.
warning Bluetooth on this item I have been a fan of Clarion since early 2000. What a disappointment. They really let people down with this product. I sti have mine in my shop under a bench. This is where this unit belongs. Bluetooth features are horrible at best. Firmware in unit is subpar. Pioneer Alpine Kenwood are better options. Trust me on this I am an enthusiast and unfortunately they came up very short when they made this product.

Great device I have just a few days using it and it's my first experience with Pioneer car audio but I'm pretty happy with it. There's a learning curve but once you get used to the logic it becomes very easy.I read on the specs that it supported SD cards up to 2 Gb but I've tried with an 8Gb SD card and it works without problems at least to see pictures. It was easy to pair the bluetooth with my iPhone and the quality of the sound was pretty good. I could hear without problems and I was heard very clearly as well.
Beautiful looking unit I got this as a gift for my 1998 Porsche Boxster that I bought a few months ago. I wanted a new receiver primarily so that I could play my iPod in the car as there was no tape player for an adapter and I HATE the iPod players that go through the radio. I also wanted something that looked clean and didn't stand out too much as an obvious aftermarket radio in the car and one that would be able to change colors to match my dash. Well as far as looks go you can't get much cleaner. Only 3 buttons and the wheel. The screen is easy to read and there are a LOT of colors to choose from for the theme. iPod connection is great although because of my preference I have some small gripes with it. I really enjoy controlling the song selection from the iPod itself because it's fast and I can hit the next song or back up without looking at the screen. This may be because I'm used to using the tape player adapters where you HAD to control on the iPod but nonetheless I'm used to it. You can plug an aux cable in and control directly from the iPod that way but unfortunately then the screen is just black with no information and an annoying safety warning every time you turn the car on. I understand that this is just the technology and a video can't be played through aux but it would be cool to show something besides black. There may be a way to do thisI've only had the stereo a few weeks.
Pioneer MVHP8200BT
Amazing but I miss iPod control. So I bought this deck in all honesty for looks. I wanted to adjust button color and I wanted something win a big face because Audi b5A4's have a big slot which leaves a gap with a standard deck. Plus the SD feature was attractive. My old deck was a Pioneer DEH3100ub which I also loved. Share very similar features the 8200 is easier to browse artists via deck but there is no option to control from the iPod itself. The joystick is ever harder to press although as the driver it's not bad at all as a passenger it's a little more difficult. It looks gorgeous and is very customizable with color I was amazed. The SD will accept any size so log as it's Class 4 or under by the way I know this for fact because I put an 8 gig class 4 card in and it worked just fine so don't listen to the manual that says max 2 gb. I wish it had an iPod cable connection in the back instead of having t hang off the front but as I've been told back connections are dissapearing these days. Also there aren't many shortcuts so you will have to go through menu's nit a big deal to the tech savvy but possible annoying to the critical consumer.
hi I have received this radio Two days ago Quality as we used to just wonderful Installation was easy I found one problem I live in middle east Channels that We have Numbers are differentfor example there is no 99 channel only 99.1 99.3 but there is no 99.
Warning! No bluetooth audio!! What! no bluetooth audio? That god I didn't install this i my car. It was too late to return it on amazon so I resold it on ebay. If you are looking for this type of stereo I recommend looking at the Sony DSXS300BTX. I purchased this through amazon.com and I absolutely love it. Check out my video review.
Excelent Product!
Recomendaciones Definitely the products you buy on Amazon are of excellent quality and the person and the shops are absolutely trustworthy.
overall nice a few minor details.. the pioneer car stereo screen is very nice the clarity and colors along with the size is great for viewing. the sound of the pioneer stereo is very clean. the stereo as a whole is a very sleek and modern looks great. however the productivity ofwhatever you are playing is instantly slowed down when the san disc is inserted. as well as slow to read the san disc itself. also the bluetooth only works for phone calls. i bought this thinking it was for music greatly dissapointed. the display is not like the older models this one is very poor and not entertaining to the eye. the dial is very confusing and not made for fast changes. as for the remote too many buttons it does nothing except volume and song change very lame. so if you want a great sound and only sound this is for you. i myself need a little more depth. not enough functions for my taste.

Pioneer CD IU50V Interface Cable iPhone Pretty good
great, Works perfect with my pioneer double din and has ample length to it.
Used with AVIC X920BT, I highly recommend purchasing this cable if you have the AVIC system that supports iPod capability. Contrary to what the negative reviews about this product, I believe it is worth it if you want better sound and control of your music list without having to touch the iPod/iPhone itself. I purchased it through Amazon Warehouse which is refurbish/used goods so the price was only ~$30. The improved sound quality through this cord by itself is worth it to purchase this cable.
Excellent Cable. Highly recommend., The picture of this cable shows the short version of the cable. When I bought it the cable was very long, actually longer than needed. This is good, more is better when it comes to cables.
The shipping was FAST. I think I got it in 2 days. That was nice.
The video quality is great.
Good Cable With A Few Minor Flaws, This is a great cable but it does have a few minor flaws. Its a little short so you better have a nook or holder close to your radio. Also The Laynard that holds the dock connector cap on is as thin as a human hair. I'm just wainting for it break. Other than that it does everything I want it to too - charges, music, and videos from my iphone and ipod. Plus amazon has it at the cheapest price around.
Nice addition for ipod/iphone owners., I purchased this item for use with my Pioneer BT3300 headunit. If you want to play video content from your ipod or iphone this is a must have item. The regular data cable which comes with your apple device will work great for audio but if you want to play video on your Pioneer headunit you will need this cable to do so. The build quality is nice and its a long enough not to be stressed when in use. For less than $20.00 it's a good deal.
pioneer interface cable,
Too short to be useful.., First, the positives. Thanks to Amazon and the seller, at least I didn't pay full retail for this cable. Secondly, there's no doubt this cable is well made.
That being said, it just appears to be a joined USB charger cable for an iPhone, along with a 3.5 mm audio jack cable, and at a grand total of about 24" long (to be fair, I haven't measured it), it's really too short to be useful for anything at all. My iPhone won't even reach the seat in my Mercury Grand Marquis. I say put your money into a longer 5 or 6-foot iPhone charger cable and matching length 3.5mm audio cable. Add in 50 cents for some wire heat shrink wrap and you've got the a much more usable length cable for about the same money...
Not exactly as shown, The photo shows a "Y" cable or pig tail (one cable that splits into two at USB/AUX jack end). In fact, this is a "V" cable (2 long cables that merge at the iPod/iPhone jack). This is disappointing, but it gets worse. There are two pieces of hand cut shrink tubing (commonly used to protect soldered wired) used to bind the two long cables together.
I purchased this because of it was the only 18" cable that I could find, but given the lack of quality, I'll likely return it.
Does as advertised., The wire was cheapest one I could find, and does exactly what it is suppose to do. Picture and sound is great.
Pretty good, This cable is not needed to play audio from the iPod to the 3300bt but you will need it for app mode and to play videos off the iPod. It is a bit pricey for an iPod cable and it is very short (maybe 12') but I didn't mind.
