Clarion vz300 Great unit read most of my burn cd vcd some even Window media disc. You can't find another unit like this for all purpose and needs of expansion ie front rear and sub output there are lots to it yet to mention but for the price it is unbeatable trust me. I worked at fry's electronic store for 5yrs in car and home audio dept i know what is good stuff not even employees can get at this cost this is why i am here writing review to let any buyers know there no doubt in this unit you can go out there and check out the price i can assure you that you are wasting time.. However this unit is misrepresent about touch scree. PEOPLE BE AWARE THIS CLARION VZ300 IS NOT A TOUCH SCREEN. But it is a removable faceplate.Finalization it's a best buy no where you can find a unit that has screen and a dvd player with USB and AUX input. You won't be sorry for this unit.
A bit confusing I am happily listening to an audiobook on USB as I write this. BUT..I am rather unhappy about the confusion on the DVD player I must return to have it put in later since you must attach it to your emergency brake so it can't play while you are rolling. I drive an 18 wheeler and its not as easy as a car to find the emergency brake wiring. Also I'm wondering how a backup camera will work if you can't backup????? It does have fine sound through my standard truck speakers and the USB CD and AM/FM work well.
Clarion should be ashamed First of all I almost never write these reviews. Only when products greatly exceed my expectations or grossly under achieve even my basic requirements. This head unit falls into the later category. The head unit has a VERY weak internal amplifier so weak in fact that I commonly had the unit at maximum volume just to be able to hear the music with my windows down. I replaced this unit with an Alpine CDA105 and can not go even half way up with the volume before it is ear piercingly loud. I have owned 2 previous Clarion head units and loved them but this unit feels different.
I am disappoint Bought it a year ago on Amazon. While it's OK for playing disks but seriously who cares for disks anymore? it's very frustrating if you want to use it with USB stick. If there is a video file and the player hits it while you're driving you're screwed. Can't skip it.USB won't detect an USB stick often. Especially when the stick was present when you turn the car on.Switching from file to file on USB stick takes ages. If you want to quickly skip multiple files no such luck.Powering up takes 20 seconds or so.ALso I hear high frequency static in the speakers. Sound quality also is strange. SOunds quite dull.
I love it! I have this Clarion VZ300 3.5 InDash DVD/CD/MP3/USB Receiver in my 98 Ford Windstar Minivan and my whole family loves it. It plays my kids' dvds and would always start where it stops. No problems during the winter cold weather.
Great buy This unit was a steal!Everything at first is a little confusing like how to navigate quickly through songs on your ipod and such but with a little diddling and daddling you find out little nifty tricks to skip these inconveniences . EX with ipod plugged in hit and hold OPT on HU then select song quickly on ipod then REhit OPT to return to headunit ipod compatibility.[WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR IPOD HOOKED UP THROUGH INTERFACE NOT AUX CABLE]I love this headunit and cant even find anything close to it in this price range the sound quality is great and the low pass filter for my sub sounds perfectIve seen headunits that cost double or triple that dont have the power or expandability options that this clarion has which is important when trying to build a quality audio system in your car.I have only one complainti lost some AM FM reception quality with the switch but for me i listen only to my ipod so its not a problemand with the HD radio ready Clarion Headunit i could have great sounding radio channels with the purchase of the HD radio antenna.LONG STORY SHORTImpressive sleek looking headunit that plays well and works great.
Great Product! I purchased this as an upgrade from the Factory Soundsystem and combined with the Rockford Fosgate speakers This deck is AWESOME.Installation was easy with the installation kit and really has no downfalls.
It get's the Job done but that's about it I bought this unit on Amazon around the Holidays this past season on sale for $125 with free super saver shipping. It was labeled as a touchscreen unit when I purchased it which it is not. This unit replaced an Alpine Headunit that was stolen out of my vehicle.ConsThe output volume of this unit in comparison to the Alpine is significantly quieter even through the alpine was a 50wx4 and this is a 45wx4 preamp. The alpine sounded much better in general as well. The aux input has no visualization whatsoever.
Try something else Too many shortcomings. I am using it as a nice backup camera. The price is right and so are your many issues with this unit. Buy a different unit and same yourself some headaches.

nice stereo I've got my NAXA installed on my car for a month and a half it works fine USB DVD and SD card menu is easy to use. screen resolution is very good. Dvd & CD motor noise is almost nothing. Tuner screen is a bored blue color with bored white font I whish it has more color and visual effects. Front panel is difficult to detach and Attach and it has poor finish details it seems like a chinese cheap stereo but it sounds very well Bluetooth is also easy to use and work fine with my smart phone.
highly dissappointed ever heard that saying you get what you paid for well i learned that with this product from naxa. It feels very cheap and fragile its not motorized i cant control my ipod with the remote it does not have a tilt feature. Overall I was dissappointed with this stereo. no one to blame but myself if u go cheap you get cheap..
Nice Product for the Price! I received this product in the mail from amazon yesterday. The cost was $80 which is cheaper than any unit with similar features. I currently have an older Pioneer unit in my car and I decided to upgrade to a unit that had USB and AUX on the front panel. I have always purchased Pioneer and Alpine units for my vehicles but decided to take a chance with NAXA since the price was so good. I have not installed the unit yet but out of the box the construction appears solid. The unit has a heavy weight in your hand that rivals the Pioneer I just installed for my friend. I attribute the weight to the thickness of the metal casing which could be good for keeping the unit cool. The wiring in the back of the unit is very solid wire does not appear cheap or brittle. The face panel feels a little light and the mechanism which secures the face panel to the unit feels a little stiff this my stop with use. the face panel may appear a little plasticy but the solid click you feel when you push the buttons indicates to me a solid construction. The remote is similar to the face panel it feels light and plasticy but the button mechanics are solid you can feel the click as you push them. The remote has many buttons and seems to have the ability to control almost any feature of the unit but it is very thin which my attribute to its feeling cheap. An added bonus is that it comes with just about every cable you could need to completely install the unit. Out of the box it came with AUX cable for iPod or other media device Composite A/V cables and Composite A/V to 3.5mm AUX jack cables. The only concern I have with the unit at this point is the size of the exhaust fan in the back of the unit it appears to be a little small but I will have to compare it to the exhaust fan on my pioneer deck which has been a great unit for over 7 years. I will add to my post after I have installed the unit today.***note to the reviewer who complained about the unit not having a motorized face panel***.
poorly built It has a great sound and I am using it to show the images of a rear camera I have installed. However the BLUETOOTH stopped working one week after I started using it and the SOUND VOLUME KNOB does not function anymore just after a couple of months of use. Now the sound volume is very high and I can not decrease it because the volume knob does not work.
Great little cheap offname brand I've had this unit for a month now purchased it off Amazon for less than 80 bucks I figured why not take a chance. I had little info on the web to go off of except other peoples reviews here and a couple of pictures from their website. With little info I had I went ahead and purchased it and I must say I'm very impressed so far it was a breeze to install I got a harness for my car for less than 10 dollars and a mounting kit off ebay.Pros..
defective detachable panel com/gp/product/B003M76AFC/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_titlePlayer works normally and I like it but condition of front detachable panel was bad. It had visual defect and to operate in different modes require to push buttons several times. Also when pushing buttons display often shuts down and restarts itself after releasing.
cheap POS. you get what you pay for I don't see any other product on the market for this price offering what this unit does.dvd player3 lcd screenMp3 playerBuilt in BluetoothSd Card ReaderUSB portAux Portbackup camera port2 video out portswhat I find lacking is the EQ settings they are preset EQ adjustments and you can't tweak bass and treble on your own. as far as modes go I wish Bluetooth audio was a mode as well as phone was. when blue tooth audio starts playing the unit automatically switched to BT audio for you.I noticed a slight imperfection on my LCD screen and I'll be contacting amazon about it. its not enough to warrant me paying for a second unit and having them refund my money but if they send a new unit and return label for me to send the defective one back that would work for me.all in all for less than $100 this is an awesome unit its a little lacking in LCD design but I can live with it.EDIT 3/26/2012 well about june of 2011 my volume knob on the unit froze and would not turn. when I did get it to turn it felt very odd and wasn't controlling anything.. I can't use the volume or set the time etc. my remote has gone missing so im pretty much SOL I contacted Amazon before my year was up and they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee for a defective unit unacceptable in my opinion. DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP ASS UNIT.. be warned also once blue tooth is connected your radio will get interrupted by every notification your phone makes. doesn't matter if you are listening to bluetooth music or not the naxa will play your text/notification tones through the radio..
got a lemon install in car work good for a day hext dad i put the face back didn work properly .

    • Product Review Screen appears to be of poor quality flickers a lot when it is not playing DVDs . Actual product has a cheaper look compared to other top brands. Works well though.
Clunky and slow UI I had to return mine due to the design shortcomings described belowI think the previous reviewer K. modeste might not have known to connect the parking brake wire to ground. Not doing that disables most of the unit.I bought this mostly to play MP3s from an SD card and/or USB flash drive but both of these are unusable. I put about 8 GB of music on both and it has to read each for about 1 minute before it plays anything. Then if I switch to radio mode and back or turn it off and back on it has to start over and read it again. The touchscreen interface for selecting files and folders is clunky. It only shows partial file names and is difficult to scroll and select the desired file/folder. The interface also has long delays buttons that don't do anything and other sources of frustration. The DVD image quality is good but it seems kinda small to watch a whole movie on.I wished it had some other features that some other stereos have Bluetooth HD radio Display and lights that dim with the headlights or timeofdayAll of that said I must say the Amazon's return process is awesome. With just a few clicks they gave me a UPS label to print and I dropped it off at the UPS store. They said that a return shipping cost $8 I think will be taken out of my refund.
Total waste of time After waiting for some time to get this item I was at a loss when I installed itonly to see its a total waste and crap. The only thing that works is the the radio and cd player. You can't watch DVDs only hear them the USB is just a blue screen when you plug anything in. I spent alot of time installing it and now I want to burn it because its not what is shown on the website. Better spend your money on something else.

    • Built-in antenna allows for easy repositioning for better reception
    • A/V input for external audio/video sources

    • Axion AXN8701 LCD TV Bought this TV to mount over my treadmill. The picture quality is not bad could be a little sharper. Audio quality is acceptable given the size of the unit drops in quality as volume increases. Setup is easy menus simple and clear. The battery power drops off suddenly with little or no warning after about two hours. For the price a good little unit. The remote does not have a power on off capability which somewhat limits its usefulness.
Great little TV no reception. Great little TV if you live within 10 miles of your local network transmitters or connect to cable. If not and you rely on the antennas that come with it forget it! You will be viewing a blue screen only.
Battery doesn't work I own one of these and like it so much that I purchased one as a Christmas gift for my father. His worked fine plugged in but the battery would not charge. A portable TV that has to be plugged in defeats the purpose. So I purchased a replacement of the same item. Same issue on the replacement TV. So out of 3 of these TV's 2 do not work properly. Don't waste your money.
Cheap portable TV I was looking for a cheap portable TV since I watch little TV but I am not ready to give it up entirely. This TV is worth what I paid for it but is nothing spectacular. The picture quality is about equal to an analog set connected to cable. It comes with a separate antenna with a magnetic base that appears to be designed for use in a car or RV. This antenna is actually shorter than the antenna attached to the TV.
Axion 7 inch Just what I wanted and needed. Good size and connects to all external devices including Dish. As far as I can tell good quality.
Was Exactly What I Expected This TV is pretty much exactly what you expect. It has internal batteries a built in tuner and AV input for hooking up an external device.
Not happy So sorry but not pleased at all had to return this tv could not get any picture or reception at all I don't know if I just got a bad set or what but it did not work.
No Reception I have tried both antennas that came with the TV. I have driven all over town with the TV to see if it could find channels in other locations and it has not found a single channel anywhere.
My review It arrived in good time and it works good. Bought it for my hubby bday and he is pleased with it.
no channels accessible I am disappointed with the purchase as it is unable to access any New Zealand television channels. I would like to hear from anyone who has had a simular problem so that you may be able to help me with this disaster. Regards Terry.

    • Great screen but Bought the in dash DVD and installed it in my 2007 Chevy Avalanche. Hooked it up with headrest monitors and a back up camera. Quility of the screen graphics were very good. Quility of the audio were also very good. Bluetooth audio was great and others were able to hear me loud and clear. Navigating through the programs was much more difficult than the stock OEM stereo. Changing from radio to DVD did not seem naturally easy. Also while watching a movie the audio was in surround sound mode which sounded great but when my wife and I wanted to have conversation in the front seat we could not turn off the surround sound so we faded the speakers to the rear only. This solution does not work because the surround sound is edited so the voice audio comes from the front speakers. So you cannot fade the speakers to the rear speakers only with any movie that has Dolby Surround and hear the voice audio. After the system was in for about 3 months the screen went black. Power was getting to the head unit because I could load and eject a DVD disc. Ended up uninstalling the head unit and sent it to Sony to service. Apparently when they bench tested it there was no problemof course!. They just cleaned it up and shipped it back to me. Now this was really upsetting because of the cost professional paid to remove the unit cost of shipping it insured to Texas cost to reinstall etc.. And they could not reassure me that it would not do it again. All they could offer me is that if it broke again they would pay for the shipping. This does not help me with the installation costs and the headaches of the replacement. Very disappointed with Sony service. Expected them to replace the unit if they could not repair it. Spent extra money on Sony instead of a Boss or other value brand for this reason.
nice product this is the 4th double din in dash dvd stereo that I have owned and it is by far the best. I have owned Boss units before and they are dismal at best. this unit has nice interface and great sound! the only complaint that I have is that it responds really slow when you're using iPod controls.
Great hardware hampered by software The hardware is great. Other than the installation screws being too short the installation was about as painless as it could be the display is nice and very flashy and everything feels very solid and well built. The sound is good too I'm no audiophile but I'd say it sounds marginally better than the factory radio. The problem is that all this great hardware is weighed down by terrible firmware. Everything involving an animation is very slow to execute. Unfortunately this includes some of the most basic things including changing radio stations or making a call. For example because the unit hides the playback menus after a few seconds you have to first press the screen to get the menu to slowly animate their way into existence and then press the presets button to slide the presets into existence and then finally press the preset that you want. It's only maybe 5 seconds but that's an eternity when you're hurtling down the freeway and compared to most other systems. If you look at some of the demo videos from Sony on this unit they generally avoid showing the animations but you'll see the slowness when they do. This unit would really benefit from moving the tuner/seek buttons into hardware.
Great for DVD/CD..but the iPOD interface is lacking I'm a long time fan of Sony products and this unit fits my need of a Double DIN DVD receiver that doesn't include navigation. I love this unit for what is does but it has one MAJOR flaw. Sony's implementation to control an iPOD is basically unusable if you have a large music collection. I have a Gen 5.5 video iPOD with over 2700 songs. For this reason I will not be keeping this beautiful piece of equipment.STRENGTHS Gorgeous LCD display. Better than the ones I've seen in any Alpine & Pioneer. Fit finish build quality is very good. The motorized mechanism is precise and smooth. Accessories like a microphone and wireless remote are included. Flawless DVD playback and operation Flawless CD playback and operation Decent AM/FM tuner sensitivityWEAKNESSES Slow user interface. The touch screen menus are designed clean and simple which is typical Sony. However the interface is awkwardly slow. So slow it requires you to take your eyes off the road longer than what I would consider safe. Awkward wireless remote. The most commonly used buttons such as volume are awkwardly located on the bottom of the remote. It should be within easy reach of your thumb.
Great for the price! To start I really don't like Sony. I have been installing car stereo systems for along time and most of there stuff is complete crap. I was about to buy a Pioneer but after reading tons of reviews it lead me to this deck. So after lots of research about this deck I bought it. Every review said it was good except iPod use and Sirius radio. I don't care about Apple products so I bout it. The Bluetooth is awesome! The audio streaming sounds great and the phone features are top notch. The screen is really clear and DVDs look almost HD. The SenceMe is actually pretty cool for music on the USB flash drive. The sound quality for music and phone is really clear and tons of features to tweak the sound to your liking. My only complaints for this deck is lack of Divx support and I wish the screen was a little more sensitive. I have tons of Divx movies and with the Pioneer decks you can just drag a movie to a flash drive and watch it on the deck. With this thing you have to convert it to a special MP4 to be able to view it and even after converted it is very flaky. So I plan on using a external Divx player to plug into the AUX port. Other than that the Deck is awesome and the first Sony car audio product I really like.
GREAT DASH MINOR COMPLAINTS i dont usually write reviews but i figure id give this unit a try. i received this unit within 3 days of ordering which is pretty awesome considering i live in hawaii and it was free!.i have a 2010 tacoma and had installed a sony single din a couple of months ago and realized i wanted better. i went with the sony xav 70 primarily because of the bluetooth capability which brings me to my first complaint. the description says the bluetooth is builtin which is only half true. they provide you with an external mic which you have to mount where you desire. some might think this is a good thing but for others it's just another hole to drill.bluetooth syncing is fast maybe 5 seconds after it's powered on. audio streaming sounds just as good as a CD. i havent heard any complaints about my voice on the other end of a call either.the connected USB adapter is great. this cable is built into the back of the unit so you will need to find a way to run it through your dash or whatever.this unit does lag a little. sometimes pressing the screen does nothing so you feel the need to press harder. nothing too crazy though. patience!the dvd playback was tricky.
Dangerous Interface while driving I cannot express how disappointed I am in this unit. The user interface looks like it's out of the 80's and more to the point it is so painfully slow that it's actually dangerous to use while driving. The touchscreen was a great idea that is if it actually worked. I expected it to be fast like our itouch and ipad not even close this thing is prehistoric by comparison. Half the time I touch the screen to do something change radio station dial a number forward track on the itouch it takes so long to think about what I have done that it just does nothing! I end up pressing the same touchscreen button half a dozen times to just get it to function. Then because it takes so long and you press the button several times to get it work when it finally decides to work you end up inadvertently hitting another button which you don't want to hit which appears for the next screen. Talk about frustrating I literally have to pull the car over to change albums or dial out on the BT phone or it would be dangerous. This completely defeats the point for us as we primarily bought this unit for its handfrees function with our phone. Seriously who cares about the sound or video quality when basic functionality is completely lacking. I decided to write this review as I have just been scouring the internet to see whether my unit is actually broken because I couldn't imagine how Sony could release such a nonfunctional buggy product. Sadly after reading some of the other reviews it would seem that I am not alone and that this is how they intended it to be released onto the market. We bought this sight unseen based on our previously good experience with Sony products and I very much regret it. Had we seen how slow it was in a shop we would have steered well clear of it.
Sony Head unit XAV70bt This is a GREAT head unit for any car or truck!I know you will run into a lot of wieners out there. They will say it takes to long to read a 10 disk changer or it takes to long to read a thumb drive with 42000 songs on it but by the time you are backing out of your driveway the music is ready to play! The touch screen is very responsive. The Bluetoothe phone feature is very easy to link up & sounds GREAT on both ends of the call! The sound is also on of the best I have heard! You have full control over thr base and the EQ settings are very good plus you can customize any of the EQ setting to your taste The head unit was built to run windows The iPad features where an after thought.. So if you want this unit to run your iPod the head unit is VERY slow to respond and the controls are clunky! But I DO NOT nor will I ever own an Apple product! So this has no affect on me or my music or video! One last thing at system start up you get a nag scree telling you not to watch video while driving this nag screen will end in 1 min or you can just hit the OK button. This is the only thing I dislike about the head unit.
Great DVD/CD/MP3 player I love the Bluetooth audio and phone feature which let's you talk hands free and listen to music without plugging in you phone/mp3 player. The sound quality is better than any of my friends car stereos and I am still using stock speaker. Eveyone who rides in my car compliments me on the stereo. When I sell my car in a year I will be taking this stereo out and installing it in my new car.
Good receiver for what is out there. Good receiver for what is out there. Replaced a 6 CD changer in a Honda Accord with this unit. The functions of interest for me were streaming music and good sound quality. Qualitatively it is better than the Honda unit. It has more power and sounds better even through the factory speakers. I've never understood the manufacture specs for sound quality. The receiver I replaced said it was 600 Watts. Think this unit is a 52W X 4 and it blows the factory stereo away. The biggest issue during the install was that the wiring harness for the car was old and theoretically they are going to a standard for car audio wiring.
