Boos Audio System Saludos este producto lo compre el año pasado en un principio se porto bien pero pronto perdio sus caracteristicas Touchscreen de tal modo que solo fue manipulable via control remoto el cual a su vez considero un tanto fragil ya que tambien se daño rapidamente lo considero un buen equipo pero tiene sus limitantes el sonido fue bueno la resolucion de video dejo solo un poco que desear pero estuvo bien a pesar de todo.
Nice system for the price I have always liked Boss audio systems for one single thing the sound i have this guy working with a SoundStorm 1000Wx4Ch Amp a Pioneer 800W Sub and two Blaupunkt 500W speakers and so far this is the one that has given me the best sound before i had a Pioneer and a Sony Xplod.The DBAS mode is awesome i don't know how they did that but after enabling the DBAS mode you won't be able to live without it.OK there is something Boss players have always sucked at User Interface the UI of this guy isn't a exception it's tricky hard to understand and awfully minimalistic.If the people of Boss would take some more care in designing better UIs for their systems they would definitely rockPros very good sound nice antishock system supports lots of media formats mp3wmacdadvdvcdavimpgdivx screen is bright and very durable swiveling screen can be adjusted to several angles reverse camera modeCons Crappy UI and some minor glitches remote control is confusing some settings can only be accesed from remote has trouble with some old MP3s very rare but happens.In general i think this is a very nice system for such a price if you want some fancy UI then buy Pioneer or Sony but be prepared to pay for it.NOTE The description clearly states that this is a DOUBLE DIN sized device so it needs about double the space of a common car radio the screen is always visible isn't one of these arrangements that get the screen hidden magically when you turn off the thing warned you are don't come crying when you discover that it can't be fitted into your SINGLE DIN dashboard.
Be carefull!!!! The size of the dvd is not described in any part of the page this is for a reason it is too big for any car!!!!!The DVD does not fit my Jeep Cherokee or Gran Cherokee neither does it fit a toyota or a Fiat.

Mostly OK but you won't like the GUI if you use your ipod I bought this unit for many reasons gps bluetooth sd/usb audio file access and most of all ipod control. I am mostly satisfied with the listed features except ipod control. The main problem is how the song navigation is controlled. First the GUI does not provide nearly enough space to display songs meaningfully. Second when accessing songs sorted by artist you are provided with a list of all songs by the artist with no way to filter by album this is a huge blunder on the GUI design. As a result if you have many albums by an artist the only way to to get to a specific album is not by accessing the artist list first but to drop back to the root menu and look at the entire list of all albums on the ipod sorted alphabetically with no indication of associated artist. There is no way to jump forward in this alphabetical list either. This is really the worst design from a user friendliness perspective. This interface is the result of designed by engineers and not designed for the user the most basic flaw of GUI/product development. All in all a nice piece of hardware but the GUI especially ipod control is not ready for prime time and an update.
Seemed nice but ultimately disappointing. I installed a VM9414 in a Honda Fit recently found it worked great then watched it lose its mind in the course of a few days as the firmware crashed and burned.I may have gotten a lemon and while it worked it sounded good looked good and was reasonably nice to use though the navigation often had us going in the wrong direction or looking for imaginary streets.We first suspected problems when we'd return to the car and find the display half out of the unit even though it had been 'parked' when we parked. In such circumstances the firmware would respond to button presses giving a feedback chirp but would not actually perform the desired functions. Repeated efforts to reset to factory defaults confirming the DC supplies and confirming that there was no mechanical impediment to display motion were no help the radio simply had a mind of its own randomly repositioning the display even when accessory power was cut off.In the end I returned it.
navigation view not acceptable Unit has a major problem as it will only show north up when using scale of .8 of a mile or greater. This is by default per Jensen I was told a map is always north up by Jensen. I can rotate a map. Would not buy again.
Good Hardware Software Needs Improvement I bought this unit a little more than six months ago and wanted to spend some time using it before writing a review. I want to be clear in stating that I really like this unit. I got it to for the GPS and the iPod interface. The hardware has been very dependable. The touch screen makes this a breeze to use.For me this unit falls short on the software my issues may seem trite but if you're going to make a unit that interfaces with iOS devices you need to do a better job with your software.I bought the bluetooth module for this unit and that equipment works fine. I'm able to place and receive phone calls via the bluetooth hands free. I can sync my address book from my iPhone just fine the problem is that the names of the people in my address book don't sync properly. I just see a bunch of gibberish and then phone numbers. Sorry but I don't memorize every number in my address book. This forces me to place a bluetooth call via the phone's touch screen so that I know who I'm calling. I've contacted Jensen about this issue via their website but the response I get is to call their techs. They're on the East Coast so I'd have to take some time off work in order to try and resolve this issue. For the time being I'm just working around it.Playing music via my iPhone using bluetooth works just fine. No complaints there.Playing music via SD card works just fine as does via CD/DVD. I have no problems playing any of the many supported media formats.Video works just fine from DVD and/or my iPod. The radio works fine though I don't listen to radio. I just tested it to see if it works and it does.The GPS unit works very well. No delays and redirects are done quickly. The couple of quirks I've noticed are mostly due to map info that needs updating but you can't blame the hardware for that.
Buying the Jensen UV10 Instead I gave this unit some serious consideration but I'll tell you why I'm purchasing the Jensen UV10 head unit instead.This unit provides nearly the same features as the Jensen UV10 head unit maybe with a few less faceplate buttons. Only this unit's integrated builtin GPS functionality does not work that well it is sluggish and has display problems due to an overtaxed processor both GPS and all other functions simultaneously. The UV10 on the other hand makes use of an external GPS unit that plugs in Jensen NAV102 GPS. The external GPS unit handles processing and frees up the head unit from having to double its workload thus allowing smoother operation and better response times. Just as an example the UV10's GPS functions NAV102 satellite acquisition is under 30 seconds. Also the NAV102 comes with all the most recent updates no $89 GPS update CD from Verizon required. Also the UV10 does not require a system bug fix update from Jensen like this one does.Added together the price for the UV10 and the NAV102 are only about $50 more. But the operation is much better and no further costly system or GPS updates are required. As such this is where I'm making my purchase. Hope this helps.
Great single din with big screen I am very happy with my purchase of the VM 9414. I have a single din opening on my 2002 Chevy Silverado and this was a great solution to have a larger double din screen. I also ordered the following accessories Koolertron Rear View License Plate Backup CMOS Camera Jensen BTM15 Add On Bluetooth Module Metra 701858 Radio Wiring Harness For GM 8805 Harness Metra 994000 Dash Kit For GM 8204/Isuzu 9801 with Pocket and the Metra 40GM10 GM Antenna Adapter. I haven't decided if I need the Jensen Jlinkusb Ipod Audio/video Interface Cable for my Iphone to watch movies. The USB on the back of the head unit is able to play my music and display the title information on the screen. The DVD player worked fine. I really bought it for the built in Navigation. I like the fact that it stops playing music to give you directions. The GPS was ok but not as good as my Garmin. It was also slower when doing recalculations when you took a wrong turn. The first thing I did was to get a map update from Horizon. The $15 backup camera worked great. It really helped backing my big truck with a shell into the garage. I used the Bluetooth today for the first time with my Iphone. I got out and switched places with my friend who was outside my truck talking to me on his phone. He sounded just like the phone was next to his mouth. However the truck was not running or going down the road. The head unit was fairly easy to install with no glitches. All of the accessories like the camera and GPS antenna required a lot of time so be prepared if you do it yourself and add all of the extras especially if you're like me and want to have all of the wiring hidden under panels and such. My biggest complaint was that the screen would open when you turned on the ignition and would hit my shift lever if it was in park. I had to be on my toes whenever I started or stopped the truck to make sure I had the lever pulled back. The manual said you could set it to open/close manually but I couldn't find it in my menu. Here is the best part. I called on Monday to Audiovox customer service and told them my problem and by Wednesday I had the software update and installed it. Now everything works and I'm quite happy.
great for the money i bought this in early march it came on time not hard to install my self.the gps went right through the corner of my door and has not been cut off or pinched yet.the monitor goes in and out smooth all funtions work great.it takes up to two min for the gps to re route but it you think about what the radio does boucing off sat dishes and getting your location then finding a new way to get some where that is great.
Great Audio FeaturesO.K. GPS and Screen. When I bought this unit I had high expectations because the reviews here on Amazon.com were quite indepth. Many reviews talked about the unit and how easy it was to use.I couldn't agree more! This radio is a great addition to my '96 Ford F350 pickup. The radio quality is very nice. The knob feels great the plastics are high quality and the overall quality of the product makes a great first impression. I've had it about 2 months now so I feel I've used it long enough to discuss it here in the review section.All of the cables are clearly labeled. The instructions for installation and usage are very clear to understand with no issues. Installation of the unit was very straight forward. I spent about 45 minutes removing the old unit and installing this one. All the wires matched colors and I followed the advice of grounding the pink cable so you can use the screen while driving. big dealOnce installed it was time to use it. The first thing I noticed was the slick screen that motors out towards you then flips up. Watching it flip up you might think its rather flimsy. It shakes and vibrates on the way up and then tilts when it arrives. Don't let it fool you. It is actually quite sturdy and is eager to take your finger pokes! The first few flips found me having to continually adjust the tilt as it did not remember my preference but after the 3rd or 4th time it kept the tilt. Call it a quirk. There are a few as I will get to them momentarily.

Imported contacts from phone OK but created entry for each number in a contact no contact grouping. Callers report voice strength and clarity is good. Will have to do some testing with incoming calls autoanswer to be happy I spent the extra money for this.NAV Just got the unit within the last week but map software is over a year old. Horizonnav.com wants $89 for updated map DVD. Software was V5.0.24 and was upgraded easily to V5.0.23. Volume of NAV is NOT tied to music volume so directions can barely be heard when it pauses play of radio or CD to give directions. Set night display as permanent as auto did not work properly. Disappointed with NAV out of the box. Jensen should allow new radio purchase MAP update.USB IPod Touch control of all music fantastic Thumb Drive a bit of a delay but once playing works like a champ.DVD I can confirm connecting pink wire to ground and DVD movie will play to flipup without the need for parking break. DVD Movie Sound and picture was good. MP3 DVD OK too.Radio Reception is very good. Many more stations found.
Got GPS but lost all AM and most FM reception Bought the Jensen 9414 deck and had it professionally installed. Installation technician could not get any AM reception and only a few FM stations. I live in the Tampa/St. Pete Florida area which has hundreds of strong stations on both AM and FM and the radio I replaced got all of them. Contacted Jensen's technicians who advised to check the grounding which my installer did again. He pulled the radio out grounded it and even tried with a larger antenna but still no AM and only five FM stations.The GPS units works but is much more complicated than my portable Megallen unit. The Bluetooth feature works fine and my IPOD connection is great also.I have only had this unit for one week May 13 so more issues may be found. I am very disappointed in the total loss of AM and limited FM. I looked at the features and price and I bought the Jensen. Perhaps it would have worth it to pay more to keep the features I lost.

I'd definitely recommend it to anybody looking to upgrade their system. Excellent double din for the price First off let me start by saying GO WITH IT. You wont be disappointed with the double din. If you have been looking online for a new double din don't hesitate an buy this. The kit comes with everything you need to install it all you need is the time patience and the double din kit and harness for your specific stereo. The stereo offers many perks such as Advanced sound retriever which improves the quality of most songs. Also it has an 8 band EQ. So you can control the smallest details in your music making it sound nice and crisp.I personally have 4 infinity kappas connected to my system and does it sound better than stock. Also you can connect an SD card which is located behind the screen which can easily be controlled from the monitor itself. Meaning if you live or leave your car in a surrounding area in which you don't feel confident. Leaving your iPod mp3 etc you can just use your SD card. No one walking by can notice an SD card connect. The stereo also comes with a USB extender. This simply means the extender is connected in the back of the stereo and can be placed to your glove compartment for security reasons. Plus it makes it easier so you won't have cables popping out of your car. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS. IPOD/USB/AUX operation Not going to go too much into how great the unit is because it really is. Just more of an FYI on the IPOD video USB and AUX operations.If you want to use an IPOD w/video functionality then you must have the IPOD video cable CDIU200V and you will lose the USB port and the AUX port for anything else other than the IPOD. The unit comes with a USB extension cable you must make sure you don't have this connected if you want the video to work on your IPOD. Also I tried using an AUX splitter to have both IPOD and AUX out and the video would not work. So basically if you want to have video out from the IPOD you must only have the CDIU200V connected with nothing else. If audio is all your interested in then the USB extension and aux splitter setup can be used. pioneer p4400bh I ordered this dvd/cd player and after 6 days total it arrived at my house. After owning another in dash dvd player for less than 2 yrs before the motor went out on the screen i was worried about spending so much on another one. I took a chance and couldn't be happier. It looks great easy to navigate sound quality is impecable you can get the sound exactly how you want it with the eqsomething my other in dash lackedand the graphics look great. In short if your reading this trying to decide whether or not to spend 400+ dollars on this item do it. I read ALOT of reviews before taking the plunge but am so glad i did. Love its function for the modern tech gadget enthusiast! I bought this in August of 2011 and installed it myself. I could not be happier with my purchase today which is 7 months after the fact. My full understanding of what this radio can do came about 5 months after I bought it. This radio is able to connect with my iPhone by using the included USB cable AS WELL AS my iPhone USB cable. You connect these 2 cables in series and then you connect your iPhone and the stereo gives you two options you can control the iPhone from the touch controls of the stereo or you can give control to the iPhone and play the songs directly from your phone. The interface with Pandora is phenomenal and the sound quality outstanding. I made a crossUSA trip from Pennsylvania to Arizona and all the while this stereo kept me entertained awake and loving every minute of that 40 hour trip finished it in 3 days.When playing DVDs the image quality is not good during the day however at night you can actually watch the movie if you park your car sit there for a while maybe with your gf? idk. The sound out of the DVD is simply incredible. The display itself is really well defined at night when simply listening to the radio. The settings are awesome and this stereo will impress everyone that you give a ride to. I have to admit that I once let my friend drive my truck and I sat on the back seat and could not help but notice how much technology this one piece added to the overall feel within the insides of the cabin. The touchsensitivity could use a little improvement but overall it's not as bad as my GPS unit which costed me $100 P_O_S I hate how it lags had to be a Garmin.I also love how this stereo is able to find ALL STATION within your area by simply clicking a button not only this but you can quickly click on each to see which one is playing the music that you like. The software within it is just stateoftheart.I think I've said enough but in case you want the 1sentence summary if you have the money and want to be BOSS buy this unit. Was this unit going to sound as good as the audiophile head units I've had in the past? The answer is pretty much yes. If there is any difference I can't tell. It sounds great. However I don't use the units builtin amplifier I have external ampZapcoto power my system so I can't comment on that. iPod. GPX BT780B Portable DVD/CD/AM/FM Radio Boombox with 7-Inch LCD Display, Remote Control, TV Tuner, SD Card Reader and Mic Inputs Portable boombox with 7 inch TFT LCD screen and dual ATSC/NTSC tuner AM/FM radio CD/DVD playback capability and USB/SD card readers 3.5mm audio line input, 2 x RCA type audio output, coaxial jack for antenna, and microphone jack AC adaptor included, batteries sold separately Mostly ok but TV flopped back and forth Received item as advertised and everything worked but the TV is poorly mounted on top of the boom box with no support. If you carefully balance it it could stand up for viewing but if touched lightly it would flop forward or backward fally flat and unwatchable unless you want to stand over the boombox and look down at it. Returned it to vendor without a problem but vendor requires notification within 14 days if there is a problem. As it arrived when I was away I barely had time to discover the problem and report it. Also vendor does not garantee to refund shipping but he did after the product was returned and inspected. Great for tailgating I used this out at the new meadowlands stadium today & within 2 min. we had over 20 stations that came in clear. It was amazing how good the picture quality was from the NY & NJ stations. The audio was good but I have not had a chance to test all of the audio features. I would give it five stars but I feel it might not last very long lots of plastic.But for $140.00 it will be great for football games Go jets2/12 The only change is the audio is good for tv tailgating but not loud enough for music. Still gets 3.5 stars. What I Needed For Hurricane Season When the broadcast system in the US went digital my old battery powered portable television became useless. I searched the internet for an alternative and found this unit to be the sole candidate at a reasonable cost. All the other choices required batteries to be recharged after a few hours of operation. In 2004 we were without power for more than a week twice because of hurricane damage. The GPX BT780B runs on C batteries. It's great that for only a little more money than a portable TV you get an am/fm radio a cd and dvd player. I hope I don't need to use the battery function for a long time but I'm sure I'll enjoy this unit in fair weather too. My only real dislike is the lettering on the remote. It's virtually invisible. this doesnt work I use the radio to this player but the dvd part never wants to work. I am using the remote for the first time today and the it will not open. I paid too much for this for it not to be working. GPX BT780B Review This DVD/CD player is to be a Christmas gift. I wanted something that was extremely versatile and this unit appeared to be the best for the money. I have tried almost all of the functions a few times and have had no problems thus far. I believe the sound it very good and the display is extremely clear and sharp. Again I have only used it for testing but so far it is everything that I hoped for. great picture I bought this device for campingwanted to be able to use it without elect so being battery operated was a plus. I was impressed with the unit great picture and sound. Not happy when the device showed low battery after just watching a DVD for less than two hours when the manual states 10 hours of use. It may help to remove the batteries after use but this would be irritating. I will definitely need to invest in rechargeable batteries as replacing the 8 C batteries often is just too costly. T.J. Nice features but very poor quality This was our third and last attempt to buy a portabe tv/dvd/cd boombox on Amazon. This model came closest to having all the features we wanted tv/dvd/cd/usb port/sd card reader/headphone jack/remote control and line in for mp3 player as well as battery operation capability for emergencies. The only feature it was missing is that there is no DC input for a car adapter a minor quibble if you have a power inverter in your car for AC output.But this unit screams cheapo electronics and while priced similarly was much flimsier than the other two units which were the GREAT PRODUCT I give this product 5 stars because it is perfect for what I want to use it for. Other people may want to use the product in a different manner so the 5 stars are subjective.If you are looking for a portable digital TV and especially if you want it for emergency situations this is the one.The main feature that attracted me to this unit is the ability to run the unit on C batteries. All other portable digital TV units I have seen run off of rechargeable batteries. This is fine if you want to go camping or take on vacation. However it is useless for an emergency TV. You charge the battery and store the TV with your other emergency items. 36 months later when the ice storm or spring severe thunderstorm knocks the power outwhat do you have? Now DPIInc. refuses to replace it. They said that I could pay to ship it back to them and pay $70 something to get a new one. And the only other thing that I can do is email the warranty department.
